The producers of raw materials for the food and beverage industries are more and more aware of the importance of the safety aspects of their activities and of the crucial role they play by being the first link in the food production and commercialization chain. Therefore it is important to facilitate efficient monitoring of foods bearing nutrition and health claims. Moreover world trade globalisation makes more difficult and expensive to control all producers, for example in the context of Halal food production.
Safety-wise one of the main concerns is the foodborne diseases that are still responsible for high death levels especially in young children and elderly people.
- Design and validation of in-vitro diagnostic.
- Identification of foodborne-diseases and living adventitious contaminants (viruses, bacteria, fungi) which are detrimental to quality and safety of the food and beverage raw material.
